Message from the Training Principal - Captain Dustin Masango

Welcome to The Salvation Army USA Western Territory’s College for Officer Training! Our officers and staff are delighted to welcome you as you begin this next chapter in your journey toward becoming a Salvation Army officer.

You are on holy ground—a place dedicated to God and His glory. During your time here, our prayer is that you will draw closer to Him as you are equipped, empowered, and transformed to fulfill His calling on your life.

Your training will provide opportunities for academic study, practical ministry, personal growth, and spiritual formation. We encourage you to be fully present, embrace each opportunity, and actively apply what you learn. Our officers and staff are here to teach, encourage, mentor, and walk alongside you throughout this journey.

Above all, our desire is that you know God more deeply, understand your identity in Him, and become better equipped for a lifetime of ministry and leadership.

You have been called by God and accepted for training—and now the journey begins. May the Lord bless and guide you as He prepares you for the ministry ahead.

Message from the CFOT Board of Governance Chair - Dr. Andrew Barton

On behalf of the Board of Governance, I welcome you to the College for Officer Training and commend you for responding to God’s call to pursue full-time ministry as an officer in The Salvation Army. 

The Board of Governance provides oversight of the education and training of candidates for officership, including the curriculum, academic instruction, practical field experience, policies and procedures of the Western Territory in matters related to education, accreditation, and administration of the College for Officer Training.

Please know that the women and men of the Board support you and are praying for you. We look forward to meeting you as a cadet and in two years seeing you walk across the graduation platform as newly commissioned officers of The Salvation Army.  We are proud of you. 

May the Lord bless you and keep you, make His face shine on you, be gracious to you, and give you peace as you prepare for service in The Salvation Army.
