Principal's Message - Spring 2008
Greetings!
Just a few short weeks ago my wife and
I were appointed by The Salvation Army to the College for Officer
Training at Crestmont. While this is our second appointment
at the College, this time I have the responsibility of Training
Principal and Marcia the Director of Campus Services. It
is a humbling responsibility to oversee the training of future
Salvation Army Officers and we do so only with the strength and
wisdom that can only come from God.
Almost 22 years ago our small family arrived at
Crestmont to begin our time as cadets. We understand the apprehension
that cadets have when arriving at the College because we experienced
these feelings ourselves. After getting used to the class work
and settling in to our small apartment we found training a most rewarding
experience.
The staff and faculty worked with us in a patient, Christ-like
way and allowed us to develop into Christian leaders worthy of an
appointment in The Salvation Army.
As we begin our time at Crestmont,
we thank God for the privilege to have an impact on the future of
The Salvation Army through our work with cadets. Our prayer is that
God will give us the same patience and wisdom that our teachers
demonstrated to us.
Blessings!
Stephen Smith, Major
Training Principal
