Volunteering

If you have ever wanted to help preserve history for future generations while being surrounded by beautiful scenery and friendly people, then volunteering at The Salvation Army Museum of the West is for you.

Volunteers to the Museum of the West are given accommodations at the Richard E. Holtz conference center located confidently on the beautiful Crestmont campus.  While staying at the conference center museum volunteers have the option to either eat in the Crestmont dinning room free of charge or avail themselves of the local cuisine.

While volunteering at the Museum of the West you will help preserve the USA Western Territory’s rich heritage.  Volunteers work closely with the museum coordinator to catalog artifacts and archived objects.  All cataloging is done using Pastime’s PastPerfect museum collections software.  Basic computing and typing knowledge is preferable.

Currently the museum has an estimated 150,000 items in the archive and the majority of these items are not currently entered into the new museum catalog. The museum needs your help to fix this situation.

For more information on volunteering at The Salvation Army Museum of the West please contact the Museum Coordinator Clinton Trimmer.
