Requesting a Mobile Display
If you would like to see The Salvation Army Museum of the West
come to a corps or divisional event near you, please contact
your local Corps Officer or Divisional Head Quarters. The
Museum of the West is willing to work with corps and divisions
to bring the rich history of the USA Western Territory to all
parts of the territory.
The Museum of the West can either set up a display to bring
to your special event or can offer pre-packaged events.
Currently the Museum of the West is able to offer photo identification
nights, and corps history workshops. The museum is currently
in the process of expanding these offerings, and is willing to
work with divisions or corps to meet their specific needs.
Photo Identification nights are events aimed towards long time
Salvationists and retired officers. The museum brings a
couple hundred photos of unidentified Salvationists, buildings,
or events and asks the participants to share any knowledge they
may have regarding the photos. This event helps the museum
by filling in some of the gaps in our territory’s history,
while also offering the opportunity for some of our most honored
Salvationists to meet and reminisce of times gone by.
The corps history workshop is and event that will teach all
participants how to go about building a corps history. It
includes both lectures and tips on how to collect information
regarding local history as well as discussion times where everyone
can benefit from the knowledge and experience of the group.
To schedule either one of these events for your local area please
have your Corps Officer or DHQ contact the Museum Coordinator.
