Writing Support

The Educational Specialist is available to provide assessment and individual education planning for cadets working to improve their writing skills at all levels. The focus is on the process of writing and assisting the student who has writing deficiencies - not on editing or proofreading.

Student Responsibilities

Your learning experience during tutoring will be more productive if you follow these suggestions:

  • Bring your course syllabus and any relevant materials, such as textbooks, notes, etc.
  • Bring specific questions about the material.
  • You are required to do your own assignments and study assigned material in advance; the Center will provide additional and supplemental assistance in this process.

    LASSI Modules

Becoming a Strategic Learner - LASSI Instructional Modules are available through the cadets’ school laptops via the Internet. The author of the LASSI, Claire Ellen Weinstein, has developed Instructional Modules for each of the ten LASSI scales. The instructional modules teach students how to improve on each scale of the Learning and Study Strategy Inventory (LASSI).

Learning Styles Inventory (Short & Free Online Test): Academic counseling is provided for support on learning styles and strategies.
