Family Care Center

Classroom Breakdown:
Nursery: 6 weeks to till walking
Walkers: Walking children to 2 years
Toddlers: 2 – 3 year olds
Preschool: 3 – 5 year olds
Kindergarten: those in Kindergarten
Primary: 1st, 2nd, grades
Middlers: 3rd, 4th, 5th grades
Teens: 6th 7th, 8th, grades
High School: 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th grades
The High School students are not required to participate in FCC activities but are invited to do so.
(They do attend Sunday School and Church meetings)

Tutoring is available for school age children who are below grade level or having difficulties adjusting to the Palos Verdes School District.

Curriculum:
The Family Care Center's curriculum includes a sharing and conversation time; stories, songs, and finger plays; creative art activities and crafts; games and large muscle activities; field trips throughout the community; food preparation; science and nature activities; exposure to shapes, colors, numbers and letters; and celebration of birthdays and holidays.

The after school program includes arts and crafts, field trips, food preparation, science and nature activities, celebration of birthdays and holidays and a homework period.

Special Events:
Special events that occur throughout the school year are: Open House, Christmas Craft & Bake Sale, Spring Carnival and the Graduation Program.  Click Here to view a photo gallery of our Easter Egg-Stranvaganza Carnival 2007!

Schedule:
FCC is in session from 8:20 am. to 12:30 pm. and 1:20 pm. to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Cadets eat their meals with their children unless a special event is planned.

Child care is also provided on Sundays. Spiritual Education is provided by the staff on Sundays. The teens usually attend a local corps with a staff officer.

We are also excited to provide care for children when cadets are participating in special events.
