Crestmont Bike-A-Thon 2008

Written by Cadet Robert Davidson

Would you ride a bike as far as you possibly could if you knew it would help to provide the basic necessities of life for many around the world?

The cadets and staff of Crestmont College attempted to do just that by participating in our annual Bike-A-Thon event that took place on Saturday, April 19th.

The weather was great as we started at Redondo Beach in Torrance and finished at Santa Monica Beach in Santa Monica.  There were a total of 42 people (men women and children) who took part in the event.

While some biked, and some walked, we combined for an estimated total of 250 miles.

As you may already be familiar with the works and mission of The Salvation Army around the world, ALL earnings will go towards the cadet’s world services contribution of at least $6,000 in 2008.

We look forward to another successful bike-a-thon event next year as we do our parts in helping The Salvation Army fulfill its mission by meeting human needs in Jesus’ name without discrimination.
